The 49ers are just too good for the Giants.
Big Blue kept the game interesting into the second half, but the 49ers have too much firepower on both sides of the ball.
The Giants came in banged up with some key injuries.
They also could not finish a tackle for the life of them on Thursday night.
All that led to a 30-12 loss as Brian Daboll’s squad is now 1-2.
To react to the loss, we bring you a new episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast with Lawrence Tynes, Brandon London and guest co-host Steve Serby.
The guys are joined by two-time Super Bowl champion Giants receiver and kick returner Domenik Hixon.
Blue Rush Podcast with Lawrence Tynes, Brandon London & Steve Serby with special guest two-time Giants Super Bowl champion Domenik Hixon:
- DIFFERENT TIERS: Giants are in the second tier in the NFC. The Cowboys, Eagles and 49ers are in a league of their own and then there is everybody else. Giants don’t have the explosiveness or the offensive line to compete with those teams right now.
- DEFENSIVE STRUGGLES: Not on Wink Martindale for this loss. The defense has to make plays and finish off tackles. They missed a ton of tackles and could not get stops on third downs.
- O-LINE: Daniel Jones needs more time to throw. He is always under duress. The Giants need to fix the offensive line or their offense won’t score enough.
- HIXON INTERVIEW: Third downs on both offense and defense were a problem. They could not get off the field. There were several third-and-longs that they gave up first downs to the 49ers. Hixon looks back to his kickoff return for a TD and how big a moment that was for the Giants.
