Get last-minute tickets to Yankees Red Sox at Yankee Stadium

Sports’ biggest rivalry is coming to The Bronx.

On Aug. 18-20, the Boston Red Sox are returning to the Big Apple for a three-game series against the hometown New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Want to be in the stands to root on the Yanks or Sox in this pivotal series that could either squad a leg up in the AL Wild Card race?

Well, that comes with a bit of baggage.

Attending Yankees/Red Sox games are a notoriously chaotic experience as fans are known for getting rather, well, passionate.

For a closer look, we spoke with the New York Post’s resident Yankees super fan and self-identified “bleacher creature,” Ryan Murphy.

Murphy, 31, recently attended a mid-June game between the Yankees and Red Sox at Fenway Park.

“(I’ve) always been reluctant to go to a Yankees/Red Sox game because of the way NYY fans treat Boston fans in the Bronx,” he said.

“At Fenway, I was hesitant to wear any NYY gear, but wore my hat,” he added. “I was honestly shocked at how many NYY fans were there with me.”

While we don’t know how many Boston fans will make the trip to the Bronx, we do know that the bad blood simmered — a little less than usual — earlier this summer.

“Yes, there were the occasional ‘Yankees suck’ chants,” Murphy admitted. “Still, there really wasn’t any issue with being heckled at all.”

“Well, other than a few drunk college kids after the game,” he added.

“But man, Fenway is iconic. I’m so glad I went.”

More than anything, Murphy is excited for this upcoming series.

“In June, the Sox swept us. When they come to the Bronx, the Yankees fans will be in rare form, looking for redemption as they get closer to the postseason. I can’t wait.”
