Prince Harry’s famed Invictus Games is now getting the spotlight in a new Netflix documentary series.
A teaser trailer for the docuseries entitled “Heart of Invictus” dropped Wednesday and will premiere on the streamer on Aug. 30.
The sporting games were founded in 2014 by the Duke of Sussex, 38, as an Olympic-style tournament for injured men and women who served in the armed forces.
The show will involve the royal meeting with different players, as well as interviews with wounded participants who want to share their inspirational stories.
“The Games doesn’t focus on what causes the injury but really about the recovery and how to be part of a community again,” Harry said in the teaser.
“Everyone is going to struggle at some point,” he went on.
In the clip, footage of Harry speaking during a previous Invictus Games’ opening ceremony is shown.
Shots of veterans talking about their service and the pain from their ailments are also featured.
Harry lends an ear to the servicemen as they open up about the positive and negative issues they face while competing in the games.
According to Netflix, “‘Heart of Invictus’ follows a group of extraordinary competitors from around the globe: service members who have experienced life-changing injuries or illnesses on their road to the Invictus Games.”
The special documents the 2020 Invictus Games that took place at The Hauge, Netherlands. The competition was actually held in 2022 following the coronavirus pandemic.
The five-part doc is directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, and produced by both Joanna Natasegara and Harry.
The show premieres just ahead of the 2023 Invictus Games, which will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, beginning on Sept. 9.
The father of two revealed his excitement and how he “can’t wait” for the Invictus Games in a video message to participants earlier this month.
“I can’t wait to see all of you and have the whole community together once again. It’s been too long. You’re all on different parts of your healing journey,” he said.
“We all are, we always will be. But I can assure you that this experience you’re gonna have will hopefully be life changing, and you’ll come out of it a better person for sure,” he added.
Harry and wife Meghan Markle reportedly signed an estimated $100 million deal with Netflix which included the Invictus Games doc as well as their docuseries “Harry & Meghan” in which the former royals made bombshell allegations against the royal family.
