Britney Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari, has confirmed that he and the “Toxic” singer are ending “their journey together” — following the news that he filed for divorce.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” Asghari, 29, wrote in a statement posted to his Instagram Story.
“We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. [S–t] happens. Asking for privacy seems rediculous (sic) so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful,” he concluded.
The Post has contacted reps for Spears, 41, and Asghari for comment.
The fitness trainer filed for divorce from the pop star Wednesday, just hours after news of their split broke, several outlets reported.
The couple married on June 9, 2022.
