AEW’s Cash Wheeler arrested for aggravated assault with firearm

Professional wrestling star Cash Wheeler was arrested in Orlando on Friday morning and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

Wheeler, whose given name is Daniel, is one half of the current AEW tag-team champions, FTR, along with Dax Harwood.

Wheeler, 36, was booked in Circuit Court, the Orlando Sentinel reported, citing county records.

The arrest warrant was issued on July 28, and he pled not guilty on Aug. 3.

A hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon.

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. [Wheeler] is fully cooperating with local authorities,” the wrestling promotion said in a statement to the outlet.

Further details of the alleged incident were not immediately available.

The event has reportedly sold 80,000 tickets, and is by far the biggest event in the company’s four-plus-year history.
