Julian Edelman’s got jokes about Tom Brady
The retired Patriots wide receiver took the opportunity to bust Brady’s chops while wishing his former quarterback’s 16-year-old son, Jack, a happy birthday on Tuesday.
Brady, who hung up his cleats for good in February, shared a tribute to his oldest son — whom he shares with his ex, actress Bridget Moynahan — and said Jack is preparing for his learner’s permit in a post on Instagram.
“16 already?!” Edelman wrote in the comments. “Better get you driving instructor hat on @tombrady … happy birthday Jack!”
Edelman spent his entire 12-year NFL career playing alongside Brady in New England, where they won three Super Bowls together.
Their closely documented bromance was a fan-favorite in Foxborough.
Their close friendship lived on in the public eye through social media when Brady took his talents to Tampa Bay in March 2020 and Edelman retired in April 2021.
Brady also cracked a few jokes in his birthday tribute to Jack.
“16 years of joy with the (sweetest, kindest, most loving etc etc) son, brother, friend and teammate any parent could ever hope for. You have changed our lives since the day you were born and everyday since has been such a blessing for everyone who knows you and is lucky to have you in their life.
“Now it’s time for the next step… the learners permit ….hahahaha ….I’m gonna make sure I’m off the road.”
Brady shares his son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10, with his ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
The future Hall of Famer and Victoria’s Secret runway legend announced that they finalized their divorce in October after 13 years of marriage.
Bündchen shared her own tribute to Jack in a post on Instagram, which included photos of the pair, as well as a sweet snap of the three siblings.
“Happy birthday Jack! I can’t believe that you are turning 16!” she wrote.
“I remember when you were just a little peanut and now you are towering over me. I am so lucky to have you in my life and I will always be here for you no matter what! Love you so much!”
Brady, 46, has been spending time with 37-year-old Russian model Irina Shayk.
The two were first spotted together last month when Brady was seen picking up Shayk from the Hotel Bel-Air.
