NFL Week 1 live stream, channel, betting info

Perhaps no team has received more preseason hype than the Jets — but the part that actually counts starts now.

Following the addition of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers via trade, the emergence of Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner as Rookie of the Year stars, and an entertaining “Hard Knocks” season the Jets have become one of the most compelling teams in the NFL this year.

With a 7-10 2022 season in the rearview mirror and the Super Bowl being floated as a goal, drama is sure to accompany Gang Green throughout its entire 2023 campaign.

That campaign starts on a date with a hated division foe that has become a perennial championship contender: the Buffalo Bills.

When do the Jets and the Bills play?

The Jets and Bills square off Monday, Sept. 11 at 8:15 p.m. ET.

The two AFC East rivals are set to kick off their 2023 season at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., and it will be the only matchup between the two squads until Week 11 in Buffalo.

How can I watch the game?

Jets vs. Bills will be televised nationally on ESPN and ABC as the season’s first edition of “Monday Night Football,” the signature broadcast that Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be returning to call this season.

Fans can also stream the game online on Fubo and NFL+, the league’s direct-to-consumer streaming service.

The “ManningCast” with Peyton and Eli Manning returns for a third season and the alternate broadcast of the game can be found on ESPN2 and ESPN+.

What can I expect from the Jets this year?

Where the Jets will land this season has been a hotly-debated topic across the sports world during the lead-up to this season.

After a busy offseason in which the Jets traded for four-time MVP quarterback Rodgers, signed his former teammates Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, landed star back Dalvin Cook, and extended stud defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, it’s clear the Jets will look significantly different than they did last season.

Last year, the Jets were a tale of two teams: their defense ranked 4th in the league with just 18.6 points allowed per game, while their offense was an abysmal 29th in the NFL with 17.4 points per contest.

The hyped addition of Rodgers, along with the development of Wilson and running back Breece Hall, who is returning from an ACL injury, figures to move the team’s offense out of the NFL’s cellar.

But questions remain about the 39-year-old’s current abilities, as Rodgers is coming off his worst season in recent memory.

Meanwhile, the defense looks like it will once again be an elite unit, as Williams and Gardner will lead a deep group that has strengths all over the place, particularly on a stout defensive line.

So, fans can expect to watch a team that has higher expectations for itself than last season and wants to do big things — just how big is yet to be seen.

What is the record between the Jets and the Bills?

The Bills own the all-time series over the Jets, 68-57.

The two teams first squared off in 1960, and have since played each other just once in the playoffs, with Buffalo winning a 31-27 contest in 1981.

Over the past three seasons, the Jets have won just one of six games against the Bills with their lone victory coming last November when the Zach Wilson-led Jets squeaked by their rivals, 20-17.

Zach Wilson threw for 154 yards and a touchdown in that game, while Garrett Wilson added 92 receiving yards. The defense intercepted Josh Allen twice and didn’t allow a passing touchdown.

Jets-Bills betting info

The Bills, owners of a 13-3 record along with a divisional round berth last year, are 2.5-point favorites over the Jets, according to BetMGM.

The moneyline is -140 in favor of the Bills.

The over/under stands at 45.5, as both team’s defenses are expected to be elite units once again this season, though the Bills will be without star rusher Von Miller to start the year.
