Ian Eagle had a “Blank Space” on the Chiefs-Jaguars’ CBS broadcast, and he filled it with Travis Kelce’s name.
As the star Chiefs tight end scored his first touchdown of the season Sunday, Eagle’s commentary appeared to include a playful nod to Kelce’s love life, as the two-time Super Bowl champ has recently been linked to Taylor Swift.
“Kelce finds a blank space for the score,” Eagle said.
In addition to the touchdown, Kelce — who missed the Chiefs’ season-opening loss to the Lions on Sept. 7 with a knee injury — finished Kansas City’s 17-9 win over Jacksonville with four receptions for 26 yards.
Although Kelce, 33, had been sidelined to start the season, the eight-time Pro Bowler has been at the center of off-the-field headlines after The Messenger reported Tuesday that he and Swift have been “hanging out.”
“Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,” a source told the publication. “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”
Kelce’s older brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, addressed the dating buzz surrounding his sibling after Philadelphia’s 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.
“Ever since [Kelce’s reality dating series] ‘Catching Kelce,’ everybody has been infatuated with Travis’ love life,” Jason said. “I don’t really know what’s going on there. I know Trav is having fun.”
Kelce failed to connect with Swift, 33, when he caught the pop superstar’s blockbuster “Eras Tour” in Kansas City over the summer.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce previously said on his “New Heights” podcast.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal, but it was an unbelievable show.”
Swift previously dated actor Joe Alwyn, with the pair calling it quits in April after more than six years together.
She was most recently linked to musician Matty Healy, but the two reportedly separated in early June.
