Daniel Jones trolled by 49ers’ Arik Armstead after awful performance

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Arik Armstead didn’t waste any time rubbing salt into the wound of Daniel Jones or the Giants after another ugly loss in the primetime spotlight.

Armstead took to X, formerly Twitter, to chirp Jones after he threw two interceptions and was sacked 11 times in a 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks — the 49ers’ division rival — on “Monday Night Football.”

“Daniel Jones I am so disappointed in you… why would you would throw the ball so quick vs us and then let these people have a career day ? ….. why weren’t we deserving,” Armstead wrote, adding the crying laughing emoji at the end.

One of Jones’ interceptions against the Seahawks on Monday night was a pick-six that put the game all but out of reach in the third quarter.

Devon Witherspoon took the ball 97 yards on the interception to put Seattle ahead 21-3.

“Just felt like the coverage was soft, trying to find someone in the zone,” Jones said about the interception. “Obviously terrible decision and awful mistake, so I can’t afford to do that.”

Jones finished the night throwing 27 passes for 203 yards.

It was the third time this season that Jones did not have a touchdown pass against an opponent.

His only two touchdown throws came in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals in a 31-28 comeback win.

“Obviously I didn’t play well enough,” Jones said about his performance on Monday. “It was unacceptable and I let the team down. I’ve got to fix it. I’ve got to work hard to get it right and I’m going to do that.”

In the Giants loss to the 49ers the week prior, Jones had completed 22 of his 32 pass attempts for 137 yards.

He also threw an interception in that game as well.

Jones has thrown at least one interception in the first four games of the season this year for New York.
