Arch Manning brings in $102,500 for charity in first NIL deal

Third-string Texas quarterback Arch Manning earned over $100,000 in his first name, image and likeness deal.

But he won’t see any of that record-breaking dollar figure for himself.

Through a condition on Manning’s deal with trading card company Panini America, a one-of-a-kind, never to be reproduced Prizm Black autographed card was auctioned off on Panini’s website to raise $102,500 for charity.

Along with the card, the package also included a meet-and-greet with Manning and the opportunity for the winner to catch passes on the field.

The announcement of this deal was somewhat unexpected, as Manning and his family originally stated he would not sign an NIL deal until he was a starter for Texas, according to OutKick’s Trey Wallace.

But with Quinn Ewers in the starting spot for the Longhorns and Maalik Murphy behind him, that may have been too long to wait.

Manning was one of the top high school recruits in the class of 2023, being ranked No. 5 overall, and joined Texas’ 2022 class in January.

This will be his second semester and first fall with the team.

As the son of Cooper Manning, nephew of Eli and Peyton Manning, and grandson of Archie Manning, living up to his legacy could mean the value of this card skyrocketing someday.

“Getting my first Panini trading card is something I couldn’t have imagined growing up,” Manning said in a statement, according to ESPN. “Working with Panini to have my first trading card benefit the larger community is special. Helping children live healthy and fulfilling lives is something that has always been important to my family.”

The winner of the auction is unknown, but they will take part of the check presentation for Manning’s donation.

Though this card is unique, Manning’s partnership with Panini will continue to produce trading card products.
