Adele has ditched the booze.
The 16-time Grammy winner, 35, told fans in attendance at her Vegas residency Saturday that she decided to quit drinking three months ago, adding that she was a “borderline alcoholic” for much of her 20s.
“I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago,” she said during her performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. “I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my 20s, but I miss it so much.”
Admitting that “it’s boring” to quit drinking, Adele revealed she also “cut out caffeine” from her daily routine.
“So enjoy your whiskey sour. I’m very, very jealous,” she told a fan in the audience in a video shared on X.
The singer, who admittedly got “too drunk” with pal Lizzo at this year’s Grammy awards in February, has been open about her relationship with alcohol.
Her fourth studio album titled “30” features a song called “I Drink Wine” in which she sings about turning to the bottle in times of hardship.
“When I was a child / Every single thing could blow my mind / Soaking it all up for fun / But now I only soak up wine,” Adele sings in the song, released in 2021.
In Oct. 2021, the mom of one told Vogue that lockdown during the COVID pandemic saw her start drinking “earlier and earlier” with each coming day.
“I’ve always had a very close relationship with alcohol,” the told the outlet at the time. “I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It’s what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it.”
She also added that drinking left her more impressionable on what is said about her in the media than when she’s not consuming alcohol.
“They descend, and descend, and descend on you, which drives you f–king mad,” she said.
Adele previously revealed that she “stopped drinking” after her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki, as well as her estranged dad Mark Evans’ death in May 2021.
“That’s one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself, is just drinking water and being sober as anything,” she told Oprah Winfrey.
