Adam Sandler paused a comedy set on Wednesday to help a fan who was having a medical emergency.
The “Happy Gilmore” and former “Saturday Night Live” star, 57, is currently in the middle of his “I Missed You” tour, where he is performing 25 cities throughout the United States and Canada.
He was doing his set in San Jose, Calif., when he directed his attention to someone in the audience.
“Let’s take a few seconds, we’ll just let these guys concentrate, alright? Love y’all,” the comedian said in the a TikTok video, which was captured by a fan. He then directed medical personnel to the audience member who was in need of help.
After the fan received medical help for their unknown conduction, Sandler said, “We’re all wishing you well there, youngster, feel better back there. Sorry about that.”
He added: “I hope everybody’s good, everybody’s alright. We’ll get going, we’ll start the show back up, alright?”
He also prompted the audience to cheer for the fan.
“Let’s give a round of applause for that dude, hope he feels better,” Sandler said as the crowd applauded. “Alright, back to the f—in’ dumbness,” he joked, as he resumed his comedy set.
This behavior stands in contrast to other celebrities such as Travis Scott, who reportedly continued performing during the stampede at his 2021 Astroworld festival that left some fans injured and even dead. (But, Scott “fully cooperated” with the authorities afterwards).
It’s been a busy year for Sandler, who was also recently in the hit Netflix movie, “You are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” along with his real-life wife, Jackie Sandler, and teen daughters, Sunny, 14, and Sadie, 17.
In a September 2022 interview for AARP Magazine, Sandler said, “My wife and I go to sleep talking about the girls. They have so much ahead, and I feel nervous for them, excited for them. As a parent, you just want to make sure your kids are okay when it’s time for them to take off. But teenagers are complicated. They’d rather spend time with friends than sitting at home with us all the time.”
Sandler’s “I Missed You” tour began in Vancouver, and is scheduled to last through December.
