Seahawks’ Jamal Adams fined $50,000 after berating concussion doctor

Seahawks defensive back Jamal Adams has been fined $50,000 for berating an independent concussion doctor during the team’s Week 6 game against the Bengals.

CBS Sports first reported that the NFL levied the fine after he “directed verbal remarks and made inappropriate physical contact” with the doctor, who was evaluating Seahawks wideout Jake Bobo for a potential concussion.

In a snippet of video of highlights of the game posted to YouTube by the Seahawks, Adams could be seen yelling “He good! He good!” as Bobo was being led to the injury tent, but no physical contact was shown in the clip.

Bobo had just caught a 20-yard pass from Geno Smith before getting hit by Bengals safety Dax Hill.

Compounding the matter, Adams had just avoided league discipline in the Seahawks’ previous game when he berated the independent concussion doctor after he was ruled out of the matchup against the Giants with a concussion.

Adams later apologized for his outburst in a post on X.

“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG,” Adams wrote in a statement.

“You did everything right when you realized I was concussed, I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way.

“Watching the replay, I am thankful for your patience knowing I wasn’t myself in that moment. You’re a real one and you serve a great purpose that benefits the NFL and so many players. Prioritizing player’s health is essential. Much respect to you!”
