Josh Dobbs’ airport routine may just give seasoned travelers agita, but the new Vikings quarterback claims it’s “the most efficient process” to getting through the airport.
In a recently resurfaced TikTok from August, Dobbs, who was recently traded from the Cardinals to the Vikings, explained what happens when a player gets traded after one fan asked about his airport routine.
In his TikTok video, Dobbs said he gets to the airport 20 minutes before his flight boards.
While most airlines recommend getting to the airport several hours before a flight departs, Dobbs explained why he gives himself such a small window.
“Me being an engineer, I like to be extremely efficient,” Dobbs said in the video. “I also hate wasted time. So when you get to the airport 20 minutes before your flight boards — not before your flight takes off — you’re able to, boom, show up at the counter [and] check your bags.”
He added: “I’m able to walk through, grab some food, and not have to stand in line or sit down at the airport. I hate that.”
It should be noted that Dobbs also said he has TSA PreCheck and CLEAR, which allows passengers to move through security at a much quicker pace than passengers going thru the regular security line.
Dobbs should be a bit of an expert on travel, having played for seven different NFL teams over his six years in the league.
The quarterback was shipped at the NFL trade deadline to the Vikings and was under center five days later after starter Jaren Hall went down with a concussion.
Dobbs then led Minnesota to a 31-28 victory over the Falcons, going 20-for-30 with 158 passing yards, two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell already told reporters on Monday that Dobbs would be starting again in their Week 10 matchup with the Saints.
