It appeared that Bally Sports Southwest didn’t appreciate the comments made by Dallas Mavericks analyst Brian Dameris.
Dameris went viral over the weekend after he went on a lengthy rant about James Harden’s move to the Los Angeles Clippers and why he was a problem.
Well after Bally Sports Southwest posted it to their account on X, it was quietly taken down.
The Mavs analyst had made the remarks during Friday’s game against the Clippers in Dallas.
While video of Dameris’ comments is still widely available on TikTok and other accounts on social media, it was pulled from Bally’s X account because execs felt the clip “did not reflect the Mavericks organization,” according to Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina.
Additionally, the report stated that there had been no outside influence in the decision to take down the post and that a source had told Traina that Bally Sports Southwest did not agree with Dameris’ “editorializing” because it went against the network’s “values.”
Dameris went through the litany of stops that Harden had made since he forced a trade out of Houston to the Brooklyn Nets in 2021 and kickstarted a chaotic next couple of years during the blistering commentary.
Since Harden was traded by the Rockets, he’s forced his way out of Brooklyn and out of Philadelphia most recently.
“Listen, James, have you ever had those friends who had bad roommates?” Dameris said in part of his two-minute commentary. “Over and over again they complained about their bad roommates. ‘This guy’s terrible.’ They never thought to be self-aware enough that they’re the bad roommate; they’re the problem. Hey, James, YOU’RE the problem.
“If this doesn’t work this year, in this system, with this team, then you’re going to go and point fingers at everybody else and you’re going to go home and start swiping right for another team. There’s not going to be anybody left because James, you’re not The Beard, you’re not the system—you’re the problem.”
Things haven’t exactly gone swimmingly since Harden arrived in Los Angeles as the Clippers have gone 0-4 since the trade.
Harden is averaging 13.5 points per game and shooting 47.2% from the field in his first four games for LA.
