Bobby Berk exiting ‘Queer Eye’ after Season 8: cast reactions



Bobby Berk is saying “goodbye” to “Queer Eye.”

The home designer announced Monday that he will be leaving the hit Netflix show “Queer Eye” after Season 8 wraps.

“To the Queer Eye Community who have become family to me,” Berk, 42, wrote in an Instagram post. “The love that I have received from you all over the last 6 years has been absolutely surreal. You have tuned in and been dedicated fans and together we were able to share the healing powers of design.

“I learned from you all about kindness, love and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better,” he continued. “The way you have embraced me and accepted me for who I am is something that l will truly carry with me for the rest of my life.”

The Texas native said that throughout his time on the show, several fans have reached out to him and relayed how it has impacted their lives.

“[I] could not be more grateful to each and every one of you for being brave enough to share your experiences,” Berk added. “It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one.”

“I love you all so so much and I’ll meet you all in Nola for one final season #foreverthefab5,” he concluded.

While Berk did not give a reason as to why he is departing the show, two of his castmates, food guru Antoni Porowski and grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness, commented their well wishes for the designer.

“#foreverthefab5 indeed, and don’t forget it,” Porowski, 39, wrote alongside five red heart emojis.

Van Ness, 36, simply commented three red hearts.

While Berk did not give a reason as to why he is departing the show, two of his castmates, Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness, commented their well wishes for the designer.

“@bobby we are #ForeverTheFab5 | no matter what. I’m about to be a Netflix’s door & e-mails telling them you can’t leave! Who is coming with me? I love you!” culture expert Karamo Brown commented.

He later shared his own post, saying that his “heart is broken.”

“With today’s announcement date of the new Season (8) of Queer Eye … My heart is broken that season 8 will be @bobby’s last on Queer Eye,” Brown, 43, wrote. “He is magic in what he designs and how he makes us all feel.”

Berk replied: “I love YOU with all my heart. I wouldn’t have made it this long without you there with me.”

Fashion expert Tan France, 40, has yet to issue a statement.

Netflix, ITV Entertainment and Scout Productions told “Entertainment Tonight” that they “appreciate the heart and dedication Bobby Berk brought to ‘Queer Eye’ over eight amazing seasons. He will always be a member of the Fab Five family and we wish him the very best.”

The Post reached out to Berk for comment.

Several other “Queer Eye” fans also commented their love for the designer.

“Omg Bobby!!!!! We love you so much! You truly have been such an amazing life changer for so many people on the show, and you have created some truly impactful makeovers on people’s homes,” wrote “Drag Race” winner Shea Couleé.

“We will miss you in the show my friend and no matter what, IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU,” Brown’s boyfriend, Carlos Medel, commented. “I know better protects are coming and sometimes we have to make these huge decisions, wish you the best in future projects and I’m sure we will see you soon shining even higher!”

Season 8 of “Queer Eye” is set to air on Netflix Jan. 24.
