Patrick Mahomes is opening up about the fanfare surrounding teammate Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.
In a new interview with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, the Chiefs quarterback said the red-hot romance between Kelce, 34, and Swift, 33, hasn’t impacted the team’s focus amid the heightened attention on Kansas City.
“I don’t think it feels any different,” Mahomes said when asked if the attention feels “any bigger” compared to two Super Bowl wins.
“People see the whole Taylor Swift and Travis and they make it a huge deal because it is a huge deal, think it becomes a bigger deal to the fan bases than it does to the guys that are actually in the building. I’m lucky enough to meet Taylor and see how good of a person she is, I think you understand why it’s not become a distraction or anything like that because everybody cares about being the best they can be every day.”
Kelce’s burgeoning romance with Swift has dominated headlines ever since they were first linked in September.
The pop superstar has attended four of the Chiefs tight end’s games this season and has become close with Mahomes’ wife, Brittany.
Mahomes, 28, added in the interview: “We’ll see when we get to the offseason, maybe I’m traveling to Europe to go to a concert or something.”
Swift resumed her blockbuster “Eras Tour” last week, with Kelce, 34, attending a show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while the Chiefs were on a bye week.
She postponed Saturday’s concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, due to “extreme temperatures.”
A fan died before Swift’s show on Friday amid the sweltering heat.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift wrote in an Instagram Story.
“I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this.”
Swift is touring South America through the end of the month. Her “Eras Tour” hits Europe next spring.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are currently preparing for a Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles on “Monday Night Football.”
Kansas City topped Philadelphia in February, 38-35.
