Meghan Markle has ‘constant need’ for attention: expert

Could Meghan Markle be scheming to make a return to the small screen?

The “Suits” alum’s recent appearance at the Variety Power of Women event has fueled speculation that she could be making a comeback to TV.

Public relations guru Mark Borkowski explained that Markle, 42, stepping out is just a strategy to get back into the good graces of Hollywood.

“It’s a tactic and again underlines this constant need for recognition and more importantly, connection to fundraising activities,” he told Daily Mail earlier this week.

He noted that her arrival at the gala was a way to create buzz around her name, “to send signals out” that she wants to work, and to get others hyped for her upcoming projects.

At the gala, Markle spoke about her “exciting” future and about how the recent resurgence in “Suits” viewership on Netflix has wowed her.

“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew,” she shared with Variety on the red carpet. “We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit.”

She then hinted at the content fans can expect from her in the near future, saying that she wants to produce projects “that make people feel… good.”

“[I want to make] things that make people feel something, right? And feel a sense of community,” the Duchess of Sussex noted.

“But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating.”

Publicist Eric Schiffer also gave his insight to Daily Mail, divulging that “it’s clearly time for a relaunch of Brand Sussex, and Meghan’s solo appearance speaks volumes about the direction they are headed.”

Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, made the grand move to Montecito, Calif., in 2020 after departing from the royal family.

Since setting up house across the pond, the couple have often attended events together, but Markle stopped by the Variety party alone.

Harry, 39, and Markle have a plethora of content under their belt, including their Netflix series “Harry & Meghan” and “Heart of Invictus.”

“There was a lot of sympathy for the Sussexes when they first arrived in the States, but they have squandered that goodwill. Americans don’t like whingers. We like a can-do attitude, and that’s what Meghan demonstrated last week. She hit that red carpet like the pro she is and she worked the room,” Schiffer explained.

“I’m convinced that this is about positioning her as an independent, powerful woman who exists in her own right, not just as someone who is famous for marrying a prince.”
