Adam Schefter is expecting an NFL coach firing bloodbath

Frank Reich became the second coach to be fired this NFL season, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter expects that number to skyrocket before all is said and done.

The NFL insider predicted during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday that there could be anywhere between seven and 10 head coaches that lose their jobs this season.

Schefter explained that on average there are 6.8 head coaching changes per year.

Reich was fired as head coach of the Carolina Panthers on Monday.

Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler on Nov. 1

Schefter’s prognostication shocked Pat McAfee and his on-air cohorts.

“That’s what I believe, seven to 10,” Schefter responded to the stunned host.

“The timeline on these things has been accelerated,” Schefter continued when McAfee asked if they would come during the season. “Last week on this show I said to you, hunting season begins right after Thanksgiving. And sure enough, right after Thanksgiving and on Monday Frank Reich is out. … I think the timelines on these coaching moves have begun to be blurred more so than ever before.

“Where owners don’t care whether they’re doing it in September or October or November or December. It used to be, we got past Thanksgiving, now we enter coaching hunting season. The teams that are underachieving, underperforming, not winning games, their coaches are in jeopardy.”

There are a number of NFL head coaching seats that are surely starting to feel the heat going into Week 13.

Reich had been one of five coaches that The Post’s Mark Cannizzaro had mentioned as on the hot seat after Thanksgiving.

Schefter noted during his appearance that there were five head coaching changes last season.

“This year, seven to 10 and I’ll take the over,” he added emphatically.
