The royal family could be welcoming Meghan Markle back with open arms — but there’s one stipulation.
Royal biographer and expert Tom Quinn says despite the major rift between the Sussexes and the Firm, the “Suits” alum could find herself welcomed back into the royal fold in the future.
“I think it’s possible that Meghan could return but I think she would physically have to live in England and she would have to, very quietly, start to do the things that the royal family does best,” Quinn told the Daily Express.
“I don’t think she could come back if she wants an apology or if she wants the royal family to completely change.”
“They just can’t do it, I just don’t think they will,” he added.
Harry and Meghan shut the door on royal life in 2020 when they packed up and moved to California in search of privacy.
Since then, the couple have released a slew of projects detailing their struggles with royal life, including Harry’s bombshell memoir, “Spare,” their shocking sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, as well as their Netflix doc, “Harry & Meghan.”
Elsewhere, Quinn claimed that the Sussexes are making a last-ditch attempt to get into the royal family’s good graces in time for Christmas Day.
“I suspect that because Harry is beginning to realize he needs the royal family more than the royal family needs him, he may well try again to patch up the relationship as we get towards Christmas Day,” Quinn said.
The royals typically spend Christmas at Sandringham House, however, the Sussexes have been absent from celebrations for the last three years.
Instead, they spent the festive season in their $14 million Montecito mansion with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Quinn notes that as the furor over Omid Scobie’s explosive tell-all biography, “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival” continues to unfold, a royal reunion is off the table at this time.
“I don’t think Harry and Meghan will be able to overshadow Kate and William this Christmas, or at least not in the UK,” he told the outlet. “I expect the Royal family will make sure William and Kate and their children are very visible right across the Christmas holidays as it’s a special time.”
