Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen announce death of family dog, Lua

Tom Brady and ex-wife Gisele Bündchen announced the death of their family dog, Lua, separately on Instagram on Saturday.

Brady, 46, posted two Instagram stories, the first featuring a photo of two of his children — Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, — holding the dog, with the caption “We love you Lua RIP,” followed by heart emojis, a prayer emoji and a sparkle emoji.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion shared another photo of Lua, this time with her basking in the sun with the caption “Forever in our hearts” with a red heart.

Brady said Lua was “forever” in the family’s hearts.

Bündchen, 43, posted her own tribute to their beloved furry friend following Brady’s Instagram story post.

The 10-picture carousel began with a photo of the supermodel holding the dog, and featured many playful moments between Lua and the kids.

“Our little Lulu, our guardian angel is gone to heaven. She will forever live in our hearts,” Bündchen captioned the post in both English and Portuguese. “We already miss her sooooo much! #unconditionallove RIPLua.”

The Pitbull mix has been a prominent part of their family since Brady and Bündchen adopted her, even appearing in a 2014 Ugg commercial alongside Brady.

It’s been a tough year for the family after Brady and Bündchen finalized their divorce last fall.

Bündchen spoke about her divorce earlier this year with People, sharing that the separation has been “tough” on her family.

“It’s been a lot — in every area of my life,” she said. “With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can, given what happens in our surroundings.”

The supermodel has since resettled in Miami with Vivian and Benjamin.

Brady appeared to try and take his children’s minds off the loss, sharing photos of the trio skiing today with the caption “I’ll tell you one thing, it’s always better when we’re together.”
