Brian Daboll had to make a QB switch

Grading the Giants’ 33-25 loss to the Eagles on Christmas:

Offense

The change was made at quarterback at halftime because Tommy DeVito (9 of 16, 55 yards) was not able to get much done.

Tyrod Taylor (7 of 16, 133 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) at least got the ball down the field.

He also was a more effective runner (2-21).

DeVito needed to check out of a fourth-and-1 run as Saquon Barkley (23-80) was dropped for a 4-yard loss late in the second quarter.

The receivers could have helped DeVito much more than they did, as TE Daniel Bellinger (4-43) was targeted more than anyone else.

Taylor’s 69-yard bomb to Darius Slayton was a thing of beauty.

Going 4 of 14 on third-down conversions was not.

Protection up front was not bad — only one sack — but six QB hits allowed — four from Haason Reddick.

Hard to win with only 14 first downs and 292 total yards.

Grade: C-minus.

Defense

Adoree’ Jackson’s 69-yard pick-six was the highlight of an uneven performance from this unit.

The Eagles rolled up 465 total yards and converted 8 of 15 on third down and 2 of 2 on fourth down — hello, Brotherly Shove.

D’Andre Swift (20-92) was slippery. Jalen Hurts (24 of 38, 301 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) at times was booed. Eagles C Jason Kelce bulldozed Dexter Lawrence back on the first TD.

S Xavier McKinney twice in the first quarter allowed receptions to TE Dallas Goedert (7-71).

CB Cor’Dale Flott was soundly beaten on an inside move for an easy 36-yard touchdown for DeVonta Smith in the second quarter.

When was needed, Eagles converted on third-and-20 when Hurts found A.J. Brown (6-80) for 32 yards.

Grade: C.

Special Teams

Jamie Gillan got things going in a bad way with a crummy 41-yard line drive punt that allowed Britain Covey to get a running start on a 54-yard return, with Dane Belton missing a tackle early in the return.

Gillan’s second punt was a bouncing 30-yarder. Yuck.

Gillan did better on a 44-yarder in the third quarter that pinned the Eagles on their 6-yard line.

Isaiah Simmons alertly recovered a Boston Scott fumble on the Eagles’ 14-yard line when Scott ran into his own teammate.

Mason Crosby made his Giants debut with a 52-yard field goal.

Grade: B

Coaching

Cannot fault Brian Daboll for making the move at quarterback with his team down 20-3 at halftime.

Something had to be done.

Brian Daboll was aggressive in Philly, even if his squad fell short. Bill Kostroun/New York Post

Daboll was aggressive going for it on fourth-and-1 on his own 46-yard line midway through the second quarter.

At least his team showed fight as he fell to 0-4 against the Eagles as a head coach.

Flag for 12 men in the huddle on the second series was sloppy stuff.

Wink Martindale sent pressure at Hurts but there was only one sack and only three hits on Hurts.

Grade: B.
