Fiancée of Minnesota QB Cole Kramer goes viral at Quick Lane Bowl

The on-field clash between Minnesota and Bowling Green wasn’t the only talking point during Tuesday’s Quick Lane Bowl.

Katie Miller, who is engaged to Golden Gophers backup quarterback Cole Kramer, was prominently featured on the broadcast and naturally became a viral sensation on social media.

It was perhaps too much coverage for some.

“One thing about the Quicken Lane Bowl is you’re gonna know Cole Kramer and Katie Miller are getting married,” Mike Golic Jr. posted Tuesday on X.

Rachel Ramsey of Minnesota’s K102 added: “In case you missed it while watching the #Gophers in the Quicken Lane Bowl – Gopher QB Cole Kramer and Katie Miller are getting married…”

One viewer likened the coverage to that experienced by Katherine Webb in January 2013, when the now-wife of former Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron was gushed over by commentators during the Crimson Tide’s BCS National Championship win over Notre Dame.

“I should have no idea who Katie Miller is. This bowl commentary is getting near Musburger levels,” a user wrote of Brent Musburger, the legendary announcer who spoke about Webb on the air at the time.

The Gophers topped the Falcons at Ford Field in Detroit, 30-24.

Kramer, a third-stringer in the regular season, made his first career start and completed 8-of-16 passes for 26 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Kramer also ran for 31 yards.

Minnesota was carried by running back Darius Taylor, who shredded Bowling Green’s defense for 208 yards.

Miller, a nurse, commemorated Kramer in a heartfelt message after the game.
