Juan Soto has Yankees ‘shuffle’ plan for Marcus Stroman

Former National League rivals and now Yankees teammates, Juan Soto and Marcus Stroman might have a new move together that they can show off in The Bronx this year.

After the Yankees agreed to a two-year deal with Stroman on Thursday, Soto — who was also acquired by the Bombers this offseason — took to Instagram to say he has a plan for the soon-to-be teammates.

They can now “shuffle together.”

Soto, three-time All-Star, is well-known for his shuffle in the batters’ box when he takes a ball from an opposing pitcher.

Well, during a June 4 game last season between the Cubs and Padres, Stroman, then pitching for Chicago, got Soto to strike out looking on a pitch that just got the bottom of the zone.

The hurler was so amped that he struck out the four-time Silver Slugger that he strutted off to the left side of the mound, doing his own version of the shuffle.

Soto even gave Stroman a playful nod that he was impressed.

So when MLB Network re-shared the moment on Instagram on Thursday night, Soto had a plan for the two.

“We shuffle together now,” he wrote, including three crying laughing and handshake emojis each.

Stroman, for his part, wrote back on his Instagram Story, writing “Mi hermano” and tagging Soto’s account.

The 2023 All-Star pitcher might be happy that he doesn’t have to face Soto anymore after the 2018 NL Rookie of the Year hit .300 with a homer and a double with four walks in 14 career plate appearances against the starter.

That one homer, coincidentally enough, came in New York on Aug. 9, 2019, when Stroman made his Citi Field debut for the Mets after a trade from the Blue Jays.

Now, the powerful hitter with a .946 OPS and consistent pitcher with a 3.65 ERA will join forces in another borough of the Big Apple.

As for Soto, the superstar outfielder and the Yankees agreed to a $31 million salary for 2024, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported
