Following the viral success of Cash Cobain and Bay Swag’s “Fisherrr,” the duo is turning up the heat with a music video for their remix featuring Ice Spice on Friday (April 26).
Taking place at and around a Chinese restaurant in the Bronx (where both Spice and Cobain are from), the video follows the trio as they place their orders and flex their status before appearing outside the Nereid Avenue MTA station in the Bronx. All throughout the new video, clips filmed on a vintage camcorder show behind-the-scenes moments of Cobain, Swag and Spice greeting fans, and even getting involved in an impromptu “Reemski” dance circle.
During his interview as Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month back in April, Cobain teased a potential collaboration on the “Fisherrr” remix and during our interview he hinted at possibly linking with Ice Spice for the remix. Ahead of the video release on Friday, Cobain spoke to Billboard exclusively about filming the project with Spice and Swag.
“It was amazing. We wanted to set a real, authentic New York vibe—we got the Chinese restaurant cause that’s a staple in the hood,” he says. “I just wanted it to be a Cash Cobain, Slizzy vibe, you know? Ice Spice was cool to work with, she’s a very sweet girl. All this feels amazing, I really feel like it’s my time to take over this sh*t.”
Fans got an early look at the new video when passersby posted photos of Spice and Cobain on set, with some clips showing the two mid-take. “the queen & king of nyc” one fan wrote on X.
Check the video out and be prepared to hear this remix everywhere all summer long.
