Indiana Fever championship odds soar as Caitlin Clark leads turnaround

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are the hottest team in the WNBA, and their odds of winning the championship have skyrocketed.

After being 100/1 on Aug. 11, Clark led the Fever to an incredible turnaround, winning six of their last seven games and their odds plummeting to 19/1 at the time of writing.

The Indiana Fever have the sixth-best odds in the WNBA to win the championship, according to FanDuel.

BetMGM tells The Post that the Indiana Fever have become a major hazard, as a team with high odds throughout the season, they’ve also accumulated 50.9 percent of the handle (total money bet) in the entire market.

These bettors aren’t just the public “Clark-mania” followers throwing small wagers on the Fever.

BetMGM tells The Post that the Fever have 38.9 percent of the tickets in the market.

Typically, when handle percentages are higher than the ticket percentages, you can safely assume that the bettors are wagering on the Fever in bet sizes higher than average.

Over on DraftKings, Barstool founder Dave Portnoy has a huge $100,000 bet on the Fever to win the championship, which would force DraftKings to cough up an obscene $10 million if Clark and her running mate Aliyah Boston can seal the deal.

The Fever were not very active at the trade deadline, though, which was at least a little surprising considering they were surging toward playoff contention.
