Sarah McLachlan, the legendary Canadian singer-songwriter, is back in the spotlight thanks to the revival of her vocals on Delerium’s ‘Silence’. The iconic track has found new life this summer through a remix by John Summit, which has become a staple in his sets and a viral sensation across festivals worldwide.
Moreover, Summit’s version, built on his signature tech-house energy, has drawn huge reactions at every performance. In fact, he called the original “a timeless record” and one of his “all-time favs,” acknowledging the deep impact McLachlan’s voice has had on electronic music.
McLachlan, thrilled by the remix’s success, admitted that even her family feels the excitement. “I’m totally aware,” she said, noting how her partner’s kids have been streaming the track nonstop. Her youngest daughter, Taja, took it a step further, telling her mom: “Please go do this so I can come to Ibiza. I’ll skip graduation.” McLachlan quickly shut the idea down, reminding her daughter that the milestone was non-negotiable.
Although she couldn’t join Summit at festivals like Ibiza, Bonnaroo, or Austin City Limits, McLachlan hinted at future possibilities. “We’re working on it,” she teased, leaving the door open for a potential collaboration.
With one of dance music’s most beloved vocal anthems now reaching a new generation, the idea of Sarah McLachlan and John Summit sharing the stage feels like only a matter of time.
