Anytime Skrillex releases new music, it is a major event for fans in the electronic music scene. For his latest offering, he joins up with Slikback for the pair’s first collaboration.
Shared exclusively via Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and YouTube, Skrillex and Slikback have just released one of the most exciting dubstep releases of 2025. It marks the first time the Kenyan and American artists have worked together, but the resulting release is powerful and exciting. In revealing the release, Slikback shared his appreciation and respect for Skrillex by writing, “Honored to share this one. A track with one of my biggest sparks to start making music. An incredible artist and soul.” The two artists sound inspired throughout Kixa while displaying their voices and production powers throughout.
The decision to keep the track off standard streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music is unique but also serves as an exciting way to deliver music with more control and directly to fans. Skrillex made it clear last year that he was no longer signed to Atlantic Records and began rolling out his recent album, F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3 via an email list with song clips delivered at random, before surprise dropping the album after his Ultra Music set in March. Kixa displays all of the hard-hitting yet infectious elements that fans expect, with some unique influence from Slikback injected into the track.
