Looking to leave his own distinct mark within the electronic dance industry, Brandon Szabo is the true epitome of an act that has dedicated his life into mastering the craft he is so passionate about. Creating music that transcends entertainment, the Canadian DJ and record producer leaves no doubt to the imagination, whilst each endeavour thus far, only further illustrating the raw talent that he possesses. Multifaceted to say the least, we could not be any more thrilled to be joined by the man of the moment, as he discusses main inspirations and influences, the origin of his style of play, his career trajectory, the release of his upcoming album ‘1,’ future plans and so much more.

Hello and thank you for joining us! Could you provide us with an insight on the main inspirations/influences that led to your chosen career pathway in music?

“Music became my lifeline long before it became my career. I’ve always been drawn to rhythm—whether it was through dance, acting, or performance—and music was the thread that tied all those art forms together. I come from a background of discipline, grit, and movement, and producing music gave me a space to channel all of that into something universal. My inspirations are less about specific names and more about the energy of resilience—artists who built something from nothing, who turned struggle into sound. That’s the road I’ve chosen: to create music that fuels the fight and gives people the same spark I needed when I was climbing through my own storms.”

Developing your own style of play, we would like to know the origin of your signature sound, as well as an artist who inspired your approach towards dance music?

“My sound comes from movement—it’s rooted in dance, rhythm, and physicality. Because I come from the world of choreography and performance, I see music as a force that lives in the body first, and then in the heart. My signature sound is high-energy, emotionally charged, and layered with intensity, because I want people to feel  it in every sense. Artists who’ve inspired me aren’t just producers they’re storytellers who break rules and create worlds. I gravitate towards creators who balance darkness and light, who remind us that the dance-floor can be a sanctuary as much as it is a stage. Some of my biggest inspirations are Don Diablo, Nikola Tesla, and Isaac Newton. Don has the perfect balance of dark and light, a duality I try to capture in my own music. Tesla had both the brilliance of mind and strength of character to bring the unseen into reality, while Newton had the curiosity to master the foundations and then play in the unknown. Those three pillars—balance, vision, and curiosity—are what shape my approach to dance music.”

Multifaceted in every sense of the word, could you talk us through your career trajectory leading up to now, and the experience you have gained along the way in various fields?

“I’ve lived many lives as an artist professional dancer, choreographer, actor, producer, coach, personal trainer, vocalist, and DJ —and each one sharpened me in different ways. Dance taught me discipline and rhythm. Acting gave me emotional depth and the ability to tell stories. Training instilled grit and resilience. Music ties it all together, because it lets me use every piece of myself in one place. I don’t see these careers as separate; they’re chapters of the same story. Each field gave me tools, perspective, and the work ethic to build something much bigger than myself.”

Finding solace in everything you do, we would like to know the significance of dance music as a whole, as well as your own outlook on the impact it can have in a general context?

“Dance music is more than sound—it’s a communal heartbeat. It reminds us that even in chaos, we can find rhythm, connection, and freedom. Personally, I see dance music as medicine. It breaks barriers, it unites strangers, and it gives people permission to let go of their weight, even if just for a few hours. For me, the impact of dance music is not just entertainment—it’s transformation. It can turn pain into movement, doubt into energy, and isolation into community. That’s the power I chase every time I create.”

Releasing your music under a vast array of record labels, could you talk us through their influence on your career thus far, the opportunities they have created, as well as the trust that has been built along the way?

“Working with different labels has been an education in trust, growth, and exposure. Each one has opened a new door, connecting me with different audiences and expanding the reach of my sound. Outsiders Recordings, Kazal Records, Mustache Crew Records, Housewood Records, and Almighty1 Music are five of the greatest record labels I know. They took me on as a brand-new artist with nothing but potential and gave me the space and support I needed to feel like I was truly making progress. That meant everything to me in the early stages—when belief in myself wavered, their belief in me helped keep the fire alive. As artists, we all feel the tension between wanting to be seen and the urge to disappear, but those labels reminded me that growth isn’t meant to be a solitary road. They gave me the courage to build a healthier relationship with my own self-belief, and more importantly, to invite others into my vision rather than push them away. When labels believe in you, they don’t just provide a platform—they amplify your vision, multiply your impact, and stand with you as allies in the journey. That trust has allowed me to push creative boundaries with the confidence that I’m supported, not isolated.”

Gearing up for the release of your latest album, ‘1,’ we would like to know the main thought process behind this immense body of work, any challenges faced while creating it, as well as the overall message it conveys?

“‘1’ is my most ambitious project to date—58 tracks, each one a reflection of resilience, movement, and growth. The thought process was simple: I wanted to create a soundtrack for survival, for evolution, for forward momentum. The challenge was stamina—staying disciplined enough to create something this vast without losing the soul of it. But that’s also the point of the album—it mirrors the grind, the persistence, the discipline it takes to keep going when the world tells you to stop. The message is simple but powerful: you only need one reason to keep going—that can change everything.

With summer 2025 in full flow, could you talk us through what the future holds for Brandon Szabo, always in terms of new music, upcoming collaborations and live performances?

“The truth is, I don’t know what comes next—and I think that’s part of the beauty of the journey. Beginnings are endings and endings are beginnings. I’ve made peace with the idea that every chapter has its end and if this is where my creative road closes, so be it—I’ve given my life and everything I had to almost every discipline and facet of art and I can walk away knowing I left it all on the field. If my work resonates with you, listen. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too.”
