Haley Cavinder isn’t impressed with the dating pool these days.
The former University of Miami guard — who became a top NIL earner alongside her sister and Hurricanes teammate, Hanna Cavinder — revealed her “biggest red flag” in dating and the challenges of being the only single family member.
“It’s trial and error,” Haley said about dating in the premiere of the reboot of their “Twin Talk” podcast on Betrmedia. “It’s really hard because everyone in my family is in a long-term relationship and they all have the ideal boyfriend.
“Hanna’s locked in at seven years,” she said about her twin sister’s longtime boyfriend, who is in the space force.
“You’re just dating. Then I come back [home] … and I tell my mom and dad if I’m talking to an athlete or I’m into athletes… and everyone’s like, ‘Oh, when do we meet him?’ and I’m like, frick, ‘Don’t get too excited.’”
That’s when Hanna said Haley is “only into athletes, so just it doesn’t end well for anyone.”
She added that her sister “gets the ick” early on in relationships.
“The ick” is a current dating phenomenon when someone feels put off or irritated by a potential love interest, according to relationship experts.
“I know, but guys are doing too much,” Haley said. “My biggest red flag, god I have a ton — an ick — our dad was super tough on us growing up, so I can’t stand any sense of softness in a male.
“If you are emotional or a lot — I’m not at all.”
Hanna then asked Haley: “The worst thing someone has ever done to you?”
“Human being to human being, I expect respect,” Haley said, hinting about a situation that occurred in Denver. “I think the most disrespectful thing was like the guy you thought was your guy went to a club and you stay in his room and watch ‘Diplomat.’”
Haley also explained why it takes her “a while” to commit to liking someone.
“It takes me while to truly be like ‘Yeah, I like you, let me take time of my time to go see you,’ because we have so much going on — you know guys, like events and stuff. If I truly like you I gotta figure out a way to get to you,” she said.
Haley then recalled being “down bad” listening to breakup songs, including Cardi B’s “Thru Your Phone.”
“I was so bad for a second and usually I’m not like that,” she said. “I was like, ‘I’m going to give myself two days to recover, because don’t act hurt over someone that disrespects you.”
Haley never named the certain someone that disrespected her.
“You got better,” Hanna said about her sister after the situation.
Hanna has previously said she chooses to keep her boyfriend’s name and their relationship private.
However, she isn’t shy about putting Haley’s business in the public eye.
The sisters often joke about how Hanna playfully brings up her love life on social media and tries to play matchmaker.
The sisters revealed in May that Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey slid into Haley’s DMs.
Haley separately denied speculation that she was dating Michigan basketball star Adrien Nunez, and confirmed she was single during an appearance on the “BFFs” podcast in March.
The 22-year-old TikTok stars became two of the top faces of the new NIL era while playing basketball at Miami — where they helped the Hurricanes reach the Elite Eight for the first time in program history in March Madness 2023.
Haley and Hanna, who graduated in May, chose not to exercise their fifth year of college eligibility to focus on their careers and NIL deals.
They moved to Fort Lauderdale Last month, and are about a three-hour drive from the WWE performance center in Orlando, where they will likely spend more time after signing an NIL deal with WWE in December 2021.
