Reverb appoints Ben Stahl as new CEO

Reverb, the world’s largest online marketplace for music gear, has appointed Ben Stahl as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Stahl, a seasoned leader in creative and creator-driven industries, brings a strong background from his previous roles at SoundCloud and Vimeo, where he championed product innovation and creator empowerment.

In his statement, Stahl expressed enthusiasm about joining the platform: “Over the past 12 years, I’ve admired the vibrant platform Reverb has built for musicians across the globe, and I’m honored to be part of the community. Whether we’re launching new product features to empower buyers and sellers or unlocking new modes of sonic expression for players through Reverb content, our mission remains the same — to make the world more musical.”

At SoundCloud, Stahl introduced tools such as artist-focused mastering, distribution services, and user-centric royalties designed to help independent musicians earn more from their work. At Vimeo, he drove the rollout of key creator-focused tools including Vimeo Live Streaming and seamless editing integrations.

As he steps into his new role, Stahl aims to deepen Reverb’s community engagement and expand opportunities for buyers, sellers, and creators worldwide. His appointment follows a period of rapid innovation for Reverb, with recent launches like Wallet and Sell In-Store, both of which have helped connect music makers with the gear they love.
