Chicane returns to Birmingham for first show in 12 years

After more than a decade away, Chicane will finally return to Birmingham this November for a special one-night show at XOYO on Saturday, November 29. Known for his timeless contributions to trance and Balearic-inspired dance music, the UK producer marks this performance as his first in the city in over twelve years—making it a highly anticipated homecoming for longtime fans.

Over the years, Chicane’s catalog has shaped the DNA of electronic music. Tracks like Offshore, Saltwater, and the chart-topping ‘Don’t Give Up’ featuring Bryan Adams remain defining moments in British dance culture, bridging euphoric trance and emotional songwriting. His sound continues to resonate across generations, sitting comfortably between nostalgia and today’s evolving club scene.

Recently, Chicane has been exploring new directions while celebrating his legacy. Last year’s album ‘Trampolines’ showcased his melodic and atmospheric style, followed by a beatless reinterpretation that stripped back production to highlight the emotion at its core. This year, he reunited with Armada Music for the 25th anniversary re-release of ‘Don’t Give Up’ and delivered a new version of ‘Oxygen’ alongside Ben Nicky and Arty—a nod to both his roots and his enduring relevance.

Moreover, Chicane’s focus on live performance has reignited his connection with audiences. He recently played with a full band at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, delivered an orchestral concert at the Royal Festival Hall, and is set to appear at Dreamstate USA this November. Each show reinforces his legacy as a pioneer who continues to innovate while honoring the emotive essence that first defined his music.
