Aaron Rodgers, Jets offense struggle behind offensive line

Observations from Jets practice on Tuesday.

Zach Wilson put together an excellent practice, including a dart of a throw to Zonovan Knight down the right sideline on a drive that ended with an Irvin Charles touchdown.

‘O’ No

The first-team offense struggled throughout practice, with Aaron Rodgers put under pressure regularly and uncharacteristically missing a few throws.

The offensive line, which was missing Alijah Vera-Tucker, continued to have issues.

Second-round pick Joe Tippmann worked at center with the first team, though Saleh said that Connor McGovern will be back at center with the starters on Wednesday.

The head coach noted that Tippmann has been on the rise since a strong Hall of Fame Game a couple of weeks ago.

Rodgers Report

Rodgers was 9-for-21, throwing an interception to Jordan Whitehead when he forced a deep ball into traffic and another ball that got tipped by LB Quincy Williams and could have been picked.

Though he recovered to hit Garrett Wilson for a touchdown late in practice and dealt with poor offensive line play, it was far from the best day for the quarterback.

Injury report

Vera-Tucker (ankle) is day-to-day, according to Saleh.

OT Max Mitchell briefly left practice holding his lower back, but returned. Mekhi Becton and Greg Senat rotated in during the snaps when Mitchell was out.
