“Abbott Elementary” star Janelle James is facing criticism over a resurfaced joke from her stand-up comedy set about her son’s penis.
In the viral clip making its rounds X, formerly known as Twitter, from James’ 2021 episode of Netflix’s “The Standups,” she says, “My youngest son got a d—k now. I didn’t know that.”
The Emmy-nominated actress and comedian, who portrays principal Ava Coleman on the hit ABC show, has two sons, but not much else is known about them.
“I didn’t know. I didn’t know he had a d—k,” she added in the clip. “They say you blink and you miss it. It’s true. I didn’t know he had a d—k.”
James continued, “I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and he ran by from the bathroom. I guess he forgot a towel or whatever.”
“And I was like, ‘Wtf is that?’ Like, it blew my mind. ‘That’s a d—k. What? What?’ That’s a d—k that needs a job. Okay? Can’t be walking around with all that d—k and no income. That’s disrespectful.”
She then reflected on when she used to change his diapers and would play rhythm guitar on his “pee-pee.”
“He used to have a pee-pee. The last time I saw it, it was a pee-pee,” James said. “You change the diaper, and you play rhythm guitar on the pee-pee. Ding-ding-a-ding-ding-a-ding-ding-a-ding.”
“No other parents in here?” she asked the audience. “That’s the best part of having a baby boy.”
The Post has contacted reps for James and ABC for comment.
On Tuesday, a user tweeted the clip, writing, “I’ve never been so uncomfortable watching standup before like she’s a weirdo.”
The tweet has over 19.7 million views and garnered thousands of responses from sickened viewers.
“This is soooo strange im???? like the fact that she got up in front of a crowd of people and said all that with no shame???” one person wrote.
“The entire clip is cringe but that last line about changing his diaper was diabolical,” another stated.
A third said, “Comedians making jokes about children’s bodies or pedophile jokes in general will never be funny. This was just pure cringe & disgusting.”
“I’m sorry I gotta come back to this she said the best part about being a boy mom is playing with their penis…,” another sighed.
Many others called on “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson to address James’ troubling remarks.
“Abbott actors getting sniped one by one…Quinta baby it might be time to cut ur losses and call it quits…,” one person begged.
Season 3 of “Abbott Elementary” premieres February 7 on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
