Andre Braugher’s ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ cast pay tribute after death

Andre Braugher’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” cast is paying tribute following the news of his untimely death on Tuesday.

The Emmy winner — who played Captain Raymond Holt on the police comedy — died suddenly on Dec. 11 after a brief illness. He was 61.

Co-star Terry Crews, who played Terry Jeffords, posted an emotional tribute on Instagram, penning: “Can’t believe you’re gone so soon.”

“I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts. You left us too soon,” the “White Chicks” alum, 55, went on.

He added that Braugher “taught me so much” and thanked him for “your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship.”

“Rest In Peace, Andre. I love you, man,” Crews concluded.

Castmate Chelsea Peretti — who portrayed Gina Linetti on the series — also shared condolences, writing: “You were so funny to me and the epitome of still waters run deep.”

“I will always cherish our conversations, often with me hanging in your doorway barring your exit, and the insane opportunity to be your sidekick,” the 45-year-old wrote. “Is it weird that I am also grieving for what Captain Holt meant to Gina? I really hoped and knew I would see you again. Hate that I won’t.”

Niecy Nash-Betts appeared on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” as Holt’s sibling and scribed on Instagram: “RIP @andrebraugher we so much fun on set of @brooklyn99 when I played his sister.”

She added: “Just a real cool guy….. my deepest condolences to his friends & family.”

Actor Marc Evan Jackson, who played Holt’s onscreen husband Kevin, also shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot on X, with the simple caption, “O Captain. My Captain.”

“Andre elevated every moment he came anywhere near, and it was an honor to have known and worked with him,” the 53-year-old told People. “My deepest condolences to his family, and all those who like all of us, loved him very much.”

Costar Joe Lo Truglio, who embraced the role of Charles Boyle, took to social media with his heartfelt tribute to the “Homicide: Life on the Street” actor.

“He was committed and passionate about the things he loved,” he wrote. “And that voice. It laid anchor to the roughest of dialogue.”

“So many wonderful stories will be told about Andre but for now, all my love goes to his wife Ami and his three boys, who he loved very much,” Truglio continued. “I miss him so much already. What an honor to work with a man who knew what it was really all about. I feel blessed and thankful.”

The “Frequency” star is survived by his wife, actress Ami Brabson, and sons Michael, Isaiah, and John Wesley, brother Charles Jennings and his mother, Sally Braugher.

The official “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Instagram account, meanwhile, shared a heartfelt photo of the late actor in his TV police uniform. The caption read: “Always our Captain. We love you, Andre.”
