Breece Hall kept offense moving

Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Jets’ 30-6 win over the Texans on Sunday:

Hero

If only Zach Wilson had played this way the entire season. He completed 27 of 36 passes for 301 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, recording just the third 300-yard game of his career.

He orchestrated the Jets’ three-touchdown burst in the third quarter — something they hadn’t done all season — and their 30-point clinic across the final 30 minutes.

Wilson made throws from the pocket and while on the run. It was nearly a spotless performance except for his fumble in the third quarter.

Zero

The Texans’ offense featured an MVP candidate at quarterback, who also doubled as the NFL’s leader in passing yards.

They’d topped 30 points four times.

But the Jets made C.J. Stroud look like a rookie still gaining experience.

He led one touchdown drive late in the third quarter, but overall, he completed 10 of 23 passes for 91 yards before exiting in the fourth quarter while being evaluated for a concussion.

Unsung Hero

Breece Hall didn’t exactly break out of his rushing slump (10 carries, 40 yards), but his season-best 88 receiving yards — plus a touchdown — on eight catches helped pace the Jets behind Garrett Wilson.

He served as Zach Wilson’s checkdown option again, while even breaking some lengthy gains with yards after the catch.

Hall’s frustration had started to show in recent weeks, with the explosive plays lacking and the offense struggling.

This performance, at least in some ways, should serve as a relief.

Stat of the day

3 Times in Zach Wilson’s 32 career starts that the Jets have scored 30 points after Sunday’s 30-6 beat-down of the Texans.

It was also the third time he has topped 300 yards passing in his career.

Quote of the day

“Second half, I thought Zach probably played the best game of his career. … He was out there having a good time, and he made a lot of things happen that weren’t there.”

— Robert Saleh on Zach Wilson
