Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari are headed for divorce, according to a new report.
The couple reportedly got into an explosive argument last week after Asghari allegedly confronted Spears about cheating rumors, according to TMZ.
The outlet reported that her husband, whom she wed in June 2022, seemed to believe the gossip, causing a major blowout.
A source alleged to TMZ, “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.”
Her husband has allegedly moved out and is currently living separately from his wife, the outlet reported.
The Post reached out to representatives for Spears and Asghari for comment.
Spears and her longtime boyfriend tied the knot at her California mansion last summer, inviting a slew of famous guests like Paris Hilton, Madonna, Drew Barrymore and Kathy Hilton.
Designer Donatella Versace created the “Toxic” star’s dream wedding gown, a white off-the-shoulder number, and was also in attendance at the big event.
The famed fashion icon also designed Asghari’s sleek tux.
However, although the couple has been married for more than a year now, rumors about the ins and outs of their relationship made their way to the mainstream during that time.
In March, the two were spotted stepping out without their wedding rings on.
Then, in May, a report alleged that the couple’s marriage was in “deep trouble” and that their heated fights had even turned physical, as seen in a TMZ documentary about the star’s life post-conservatorship.
The film claimed the arguments were so bad that security had to intervene at some points.
However, Asghari took to his Instagram stories during that same time to slam the rumors, as well as the TMZ doc.
“I found it absolutely disgusting that people that were in her life at the time, when she didn’t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs. It was absolutely disgusting,” Asghari said in the video.
“How are you gonna take the most influential person of our generation, the princess of pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison where her father tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see, and use her as a money-making machine?” he continued.
The star’s husband continued to double down on his “disgusting” claims in the clip.
“Then, all the sudden, after 15 years when she’s free, after all those gaslighting and after all those things that went down, how are you gonna put her under a microscope and tell her story? No. That’s also disgusting.”
Over the past few years, Spears has endured her fair share of hardships and victories – including the end of her 13-year conservatorship, which was lifted in November 2021.
Spears was first put into a conservatorship in 2008 by her now-estranged father, Jamie Spears, after her public 2007 meltdown.
After a long battle and the heat from a February 2021 documentary, she made a rare court appearance in June 2021, making bombshell allegations about her life over the past 13 years — including some about Asghari.
She claimed that she was forced to take birth control, even though she wanted to marry him and have a baby.
Her father later agreed to step down as her conservator, filing a petition to end it in September 2021.
Spears was previously married to Kevin Federline for two years, as they wed in 2004 and divorced in 2006.
They share two children together, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16.
