Britney Spears is finally opening you about that hookup with Colin Farrell.
The pop star had a steamy two-week fling with the actor following her much-publicized split from Justin Timberlake.
According to Spears, she was set up with Farrell by a “club promoter friend” in 2002. At the time, he was filming the 2003 thriller “S.W.A.T.”
“Brawl is the only word for it — we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight,” she wrote in her upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which hits stands on Oct. 24.
Spears, 41, and Timberlake, 42, dated from 1999 to 2002. After their breakup — which Spears claimed Timberlake broke off via text — she attended the premiere of Farrell’s movie “The Recruit.” The pair were spotted getting handsy on the red carpet, but the singer admits she was still healing from her messy split from the NSYNC musician.
“As I had before when I’d felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun, that in this case, I was vulnerable because I wasn’t over Justin yet,” she revealed in an excerpt, per Time.
The “Lucky” singer added that “for a brief moment in time” she “did think there could be something there.”
She added: “The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became.”
Farrell, for his part, noted during the “Recruit” premiere that the pair were not officially dating.
“She’s a sweet, sweet girl. There’s nothing going on — just mates,” he reportedly said at the time.
Spears, meanwhile, would later tell W Magazine that she “kissed him.”
“He’s the cutest, hottest thing in the world — wooh!” She gushed.
Spears’ memoir is full of bombshell revelations, including that she had an abortion while with Timberlake because he allegedly didn’t want to be a father, her dad Jamie Spears used her image for “cash flow,” she was simply “bored” and “very drunk” when she married Jason Alexander (which lasted only 55 hours), and she felt “exploited” by her Diane Sawyer interview when she spoke about her Timberlake split.
“The Woman in Me” has already shot to No. 1 on Amazon’s bestsellers list ahead of its Oct. 24 release.
