Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib has revealed that the pop princess was desperate to carry his child — especially if it was a baby girl.
Hot off of the heels of the bombshell revelations of Spears’ new memoir “The Woman in Me,” Ghalib, 51, claimed that his one-time girlfriend was adamant about having more kids.
The photographer and the “Toxic” singer, 41, dated in 2008 — mere months before Spears wound up under a controversial conservatorship.
Ghalib divulged to The Sun that Spears wanted to have a girl with him, to make up for the fractured relationship she had with her mom, Lynne.
“She liked the idea of having a daughter being raised in the way she dreamed, in a normal suburban setting,” he explained.
The security consultant noted that while she already had her sons Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with ex Kevin Federline, she still wanted a female to round out her family.
Ghalib went on: “Starting a new family and having a child with me would be different than having her two sons. It wasn’t about her neglecting those boys.”
“It was more a case of she thought that if we had a kid, then it would be a normal family,” he said. “She wanted to be away from the exterior entity or forces that felt were in control of her life.”
The “Crossroads” star and the U.K. native had gone on a vacation to Mexico in early 2008 when she believed that she was with child and was “over the moon” about it.
She took a pregnancy test and when it proved to be a negative result, her “heart sank.”
“I know she wants more children and is desperate to find the right person to settle down with,” he told the outlet.
The on-time paparazzo’s relationship with Spears came to halt when her conservatorship began in mid-2008.
In her memoir, which will be released on Oct. 24, she briefly touches upon her courtship with Ghalib, however, she does not mention him by name.
She penned that he was a paparazzi photographer previously, but took a shine to him because he was “chivalrous and helped me out when the others got too aggressive.”
The “Pieces of Me” crooner also detailed that she had abortion in 2000 with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and how the decision “haunted” her.
“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she scribed. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
