Bryce James doesn’t believe LeBron will wait for him in NBA

LeBron James’ dream of playing in the NBA at the same time as oldest son, Bronny, finally came true Thursday when the Lakers selected the guard with the No. 55 pick in the draft.

However, for LeBron’s other son, Bryce, there doesn’t seem to be as much hope he will get the same exhilarating experience if drafted into the league down the line.

The youngest James son was on Instagram Live on Friday and answered a question that asked if he believed LeBron would wait to play with him before leaving the league.

Bryce quickly put that idea to bed.

“I’m not gonna lie, that’s OD,” Bryce said on the live video. “Waiting until I — nah, that’s too much. That’s too much, no. No, Good lord. He’s going to be 42, bro.”

After spending two years with Bronny at Sierra Canyon High School, Bryce is entering his junior year at Notre Dame High School and has positioned himself for a chance to become an NBA player, too.

He produced solid performances in the Nike EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League), such as putting 21 points up against former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer’s son, Cameron.

Bryce also averaged 7.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists with the Nike EYBL, and in the Peach Jam, he averaged 8.3 points across four games for Strive for Greatness 16U.

At 6-foot-4, ESPN currently has him ranked No. 22 in its list of California high school players.

LeBron will either play alongside Bronny or against him this upcoming season depending on if he chooses to test free agency — though that seems unlikely

Bronny and LeBron would become the first father-son duo to play together in NBA history if the former MVP sticks in L.A.

His deadline to agree to his $51.4 million contract option for the 2024-25 season is Saturday.
