Céline Dion’s sister shares heartbreaking update on singer’s health

Céline Dion’s older sister is sharing an update on her health following the “My Heart Will Go On” singer’s recent diagnosis of stiff person syndrome.

Stiff person syndrome is a rare, incurable neurological condition that results in uncontrollable muscle spasms.

Speaking to the Le Journal de Montréal, as published by SheMazing, Claudette Dion revealed her sister, Linda, has moved into Céline’s home, where she lives with her three sons, René-Charles, Eddy and Nelson.

“When I call her and she’s busy, I speak to my sister Linda who lives with her and tells me that she’s working hard,” explained Claudette, 74. “She’s listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible.”

“The Power of Love” singer, 55, shared her diagnosis with fans in December 2022.

She took to Instagram in May to announce that, after several postponements, she decided to cancel her tour.

“It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour,” the Instagram post read.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again,” she continued, referring to her December 2022 postponement of shows. “I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%.”

Claudette said the choice to cancel the tour was the right one, and the powerhouse singer needs to rest.

“She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and top of her game,” she noted. “At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It’s important to listen to it.”

Claudette said her family trusts Céline to find the treatment that suits her.

“It’s innate to her, she’s disciplined in every area of her life,” Claudette explained. “We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important.”
