Charlie Puth was only one call away for street performer Andrew Hsu, whose piano was smashed by a passerby in Athens, Georgia, recently.
The singer, 31, reached out to Hsu via Instagram DMs and contacted him regarding the incident.
According to messages obtained by TMZ, Puth penned to Hsu: “I’m sorry that bull s–t happened to you.”
“Don’t let it ever discourage you from performing, I know it won’t … But that video just upset me so much,” the “See You Again” crooner added.
He continued: “You’re a wonderful player and I wish you nothing but success and constant musical inspiration.”
Hsu responded to Puth by thanking him for the nice words and reiterated that he won’t ever stop singing.
He also revealed to Puth that he attended his past show in Georgia and he wants to meet him and Billy Joel some day.
Puth told Hsu that while he was unable to connect him with the “Uptown Girl” singer, he could offer him a ticket for one of his own show’s.
The Post has reached out to Puth for comment.
On Wednesday, a video of Hsu singing Joel’s hit “Piano Man” — and a woman then destroying his instrument — went viral. The woman was identified by TMZ as Shauntae Heard.
Hsu told TMZ that he’s been receiving donations via Venmo to buy a new keyboard following the incident. The University of Georgia student also alleged that the woman stole money out of his tip jar.
“It happens often where drunk people will come down and touch my piano and stuff like that, but never to the point where it will fall down and with the force that she used,” he told Yahoo! on Tuesday.
He added: “To come out here and do this, and someone to mess it up is just not, like, a cool thing to do.”
Heard later issued a public apology on her now-private Instagram account, claiming that her family has been targeted on social media.
“I have took accountability for my actions. I know it was wrong and ignorant of me but please keep my family out of it,” Heard allegedly said, according to Daily Mail. “Y’all problem is with me not my family you don’t get anything out of texting them or me and I have already apologized to the person we have talk. Everything is good no I didn’t steal any money and I didn’t break the piano I’m a human just like you all.”
Husu reportedly accepted the apology, according to a shared Facebook Messenger message Heard shared.
“I told people not to harass you but I can’t control what happens so that was my way of trying not to have people come at you,” Husu allegedly said in the text, via the Daily Mail. “However, you have to know that actions have consequences and while I feel bad that people are harassing you, you’ve got to own up.”
