The decision, announced by his brother Steve Martinez Jr. via Instagram Stories on October 15, emphasized self-care and balance after years of constant touring. “My brother Chris is choosing to take some time off from touring to focus on his health and wellness,” wrote Steve. “It’s a move I’m incredibly proud of him for making, and I’ll be holding it down for us both on the road for the next few months.”
After almost two decades of back-to-back shows across the globe, the Bronx-born duo have become synonymous with house music excellence.
