Chris Martinez, one half of The Martinez Brothers, is stepping back from touring to focus on his health and wellness, marking a rare pause in the duo’s nearly 20-year nonstop career.
The decision, announced by his brother Steve Martinez Jr. via Instagram Stories on October 15, emphasized self-care and balance after years of constant touring. “My brother Chris is choosing to take some time off from touring to focus on his health and wellness,” wrote Steve. “It’s a move I’m incredibly proud of him for making, and I’ll be holding it down for us both on the road for the next few months.”
After almost two decades of back-to-back shows across the globe, the Bronx-born duo have become synonymous with house music excellence. From Hï Ibiza residencies to headlining major international festivals, The Martinez Brothers built a reputation for high-energy performances and deep community connection.
In his heartfelt message, Steve reflected on the importance of longevity in such a demanding industry. “We’ve learned that real strength isn’t just about the grind—it’s knowing when to step back and recharge for the long run. This decision is about ensuring we can come back stronger than ever, to make 2026 our best year yet.”
With Steve continuing to perform solo in the meantime, the brothers assure fans that their creative vision remains intact. “Our creative vision is as clear as ever, and we’re always building for what’s next,” Steve added, promising that their energy and signature sound will continue to light up dancefloors worldwide.
For now, fans can expect Steve Martinez to represent the duo at upcoming shows, while Chris takes the time he needs to rest and refocus before returning stronger than ever.
