Marshall vs. UTSA pick
The UTSA Roadrunners stay in the state of Texas for the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl for a matchup with the Marshall Thundering Herd.
BetMGM is favoring UTSA by 10.5 points and that feels right. The Roadrunners (8-4) were better than Marshall (6-6) in the regular season and have continuity at quarterback.
Frank Harris, one of the better Group of Five quarterbacks in recent years, will suit up tonight for his final game at UTSA. Harris was pretty good this year with 2,506 yards, 18 touchdowns, and eight picks, along with 323 rushing yards, so he can hurt defenses in different ways. He won’t be alone in this game, either, because the Roadrunners top three running backs each average around five yards per carry, and 1,000-yard receiver Joshua Cephus will play in this game as well.
Marshall, on the other hand, barely made a bowl game and won’t have its starting quarterback. After a 4-0 start, the Thundering Herd won just two games the rest of the season and were held under 10 points in four games in that stretch. Starting QB Cam Fancher has also entered the NCAA Transfer Portal and won’t play in this game.
