Demi Lovato shared the wedding photo that sent the internet into a frenzy. The singer was indeed stunning in a slim white dress, but the internet had itself some opinions. Some said she almost did not deserve such a glow-up, while others slammed her pronouns and dismissal of plastic surgery claims equally.

Lovato in the photo, dressed to the nines in what could very well be a recent wedding look-a white fitted dress with delicate finger presses-was the embodiment of an ethereal bride. What really put many typing fingers away from anything else is that she does not look at all like her former Disney Channel self. One user wrote, “The amount of plastic in that face is insane lmao what a loser,” whereas another said, “She worked on her mental health and stopped that gender nonsense.” Oof.
The pronoun discourse received fresh impetus with one commenting, “I thought she was a they?” Such comment started a whole discussion related to Lovato’s past as non-binary person before resuming to she/her pronouns lately. A supporter fired back, “It’s common sense that ‘they’ is a pronoun that can be used for a singular noun,” while another joked, “She’s a she now, she got tired of explaining herself xD.”
Let’s not forget about the reactions on the other side! A stampede of jubilant hordes broke loose over A-Lovato moments as a bride. “This snatched monarch dropped the house down boots,” one user gushed. She deserves to be happy <3″ another user added, which is… well. The most wholesome comment was from someone who said, “She really did improve herself and turn her life around. Always nice to see people put themselves back together after years of substance abuse.”
The photo led to renewed discussions about Lovato’s past engagement to Max Ehrich, which was canceled in 2020 with her claim of “too gay to marry a man.” Cue the skeptical comments of “Guess 4 years was long enough soul searching.. just to end back up in the same place, different man.” Meanwhile, others cheered her apparent return to dating men with comments like “Glad she went back straight. That was a horrible Hollywood fad.”
It went weird halfway through: “Her chin can hold its own puddle,” remarked one, with another chipping in, she’s “starting to look like Gal Gadot lowkey.” Most random comment ever? Asking to “make her bald and add moustache,” which… okay, then.
All this commotion aside, what really shows is the background: Lovato’s transformation from a child star, through addiction, to advocacy on mental health, to happier and healthier than she has ever been. Whether you like what you see or rather believe she went too far with work, there is one thing sure: Demi Lovato never fails to get the conversation started. These reactions may very well mean that it would be either from her music or wedding photos.

That being said, let’s just be happy that she found her peace. She deserves to celebrate love any way she wants- with a man, female, or non-binary. The internet will always have its opinions, but happiness looks good on everyone, even those who say she could hold a raincloud on her chin!
