Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill getting fined $7,000 for not wearing socks

Put a sock on it, says the NFL.

Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill told the Palm Beach Post that he’s getting hit with a $7,000 fine from the NFL over not wearing socks during Miami’s Week 3 70-20 win over the Broncos.

“So in the Broncos game, the first touchdown, I didn’t have any socks on at all,” Hill told the Palm Beach Post on Thursday. “But I was getting an IV and I didn’t want to be late for the play. So I didn’t have time to put on my socks.”

The Dolphins receiver is hoping to have the fine reduced after he files an appeal with the league.

Hill’s four-year deal with Miami is worth $120 million, but that didn’t mean that the wide receiver was happy or going to take the fine sitting down.

Hill and the Dolphins are coming off a 48-20 loss to the AFC East rival Bills.

He had three catches for 58 yards in the Week 4 defeat.

But hoping to have his fine reduced wasn’t the only thing that Hill had to say.

In a new episode of his podcast, “It Needed To Be Said,” Hill became the latest player to defend Jets quarterback Zach Wilson and questioned a defensive holding call on Sauce Gardner in the final drive of in their loss to the Chiefs.

Hill said that the Chiefs “got saved” in the Super Bowl against the Eagles and implied the same thing happened on Sunday night.

“Then they come back and get saved in the Jets game. Maybe because Taylor Swift was in the building. I don’t know what’s going on.. hey! whatever Kelce is doing, I know you’re helping out the NFL.”

In his defense of Wilson, Hill said Wilson was a guy who loved the game of football and “I know it’s all gonna turn” for him in terms of his luck on the field.
