The National Independent Talent Organization (NITO) has hired its first MD: Nathaniel Marro from New York’s Entourage Talent Associates.
Having worked closely with Entourage founder Wayne Forte for over a decade, during which he worked on the management team for Tedeschi Trucks Band, Marro is now tasked with expanding NITO membership and advocating for policy changes on behalf of the independent talent managers, booking agents and entertainment executives NITO represents.
Along with the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), NITO was part of a 2020 coalition that successfully lobbied Congress for billions of dollars in federal aid for venues. Today, as head of NITO’s ticketing taskforce, Marro has been leading the organization’s fight against unfair and predatory ticketing, working alongside NIVA and the Fix The Tix Coalition to ensure that the voices of artists and their millions of fans are heard.
“When the board decided we would hire a Managing Director and our first employee, there was only one person that any of us thought of — Nathaniel Marro,” said newly-elected NITO president Jack Randall of The Kurland Agency. “Hiring Nathaniel was the first thing I did as President of NITO, and I have no doubt that he will do an incredible job as our new Managing Director.”
Marro says he is “extremely excited to be named NITO’s first Managing Director,” noting, “The pandemic brought a lot of the challenges of this business to light but also brought together a lot of new voices ready to collaborate and fix these issues. I look forward to working closely with NITO President Jack Randall and the Board of Directors to make sure we are a leading voice fighting on behalf of artists and the clients we represent to ensure this industry is a better and safer space for all.“
