Patriots coach Bill Belichick had the best response to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s budding love story after New England beat the Jets on Sunday.
During an appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show,” Belichick seemingly endorsed the rumored couple when asked about Swift, who sat in a private box at the Chiefs-Bears game with the tight end’s mom, Donna Kelce.
“Swiftie to Swiftie,” said Courtney Cox, a co-host on the show. “It seems like they may be the new ‘it’ couple, where do you fall on that?”
“Well, I would say that Travis Kelce has had a lot of big catches in his career,” Belichick said. “This would be the biggest.”
The uncharacteristic response from Belichick, who’s usually stoic when asked about off-the-field matters, drew laughs from the hosts.
“Nailed it,” Cox said, to which Belichick said, “Good question.”
The Kelce-Swift saga has emerged as the top story in the NFL world following the pop star’s presence at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
Swift looked like she was living her best life at the game with Donna, who appeared to be wearing a few friendship bracelets on both of her arms.
The 12-time Grammy winner was captured cheering for Kelce when he scored a touchdown in the third quarter to put the Chiefs up 41-0 over Chicago.
After the game, Kelce and Swift were filmed walking together in the back hallways at the Chiefs’ home stadium.
The pair were then spotted leaving together in Kelce’s convertible.
It’s unclear where they were headed.
Swift showed up to the Chiefs-Bears game after Kelce revealed during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” Thursday that he invited her to Kansas City to see him in action.
That came after he explained on his “New Heights” podcast — with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce — that he had planned to shoot his shot with Swift when he attended her “Eras Tour” in Kansas City in July.
Kelce said he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it, however, he learned that she doesn’t meet with anyone before going on stage.
When that didn’t work out, Kelce apparently found a way to get in touch with Swift — and it appears they’re enjoying getting to know one another.
