Betting on first-basket props is perhaps the most exciting way to gamble on the NBA.
And sometimes, the most profitable as well.
A bettor at FanDuel Sportsbook nailed the first basket scorer – and the type of field goal — on two different NBA games Tuesday night, winning a massive payout on a pocket change-sized bet.
The odds were nearly 2,000/1, coming in at +177500, or an implied probability of about 0.06.
The parlay won the bettor a whopping $8,880 off a five-dollar gamble.
The bettor’s picks took place in less than an hour, wagering on two West Coast contests that started 30 minutes apart.
In the first game, Suns vs. Warriors, they bet on Bradley Beal, making his return after a three-week absence with a back injury, to hit the first basket, and for that bucket to be a 3-pointer.
Betting on the NBA?
Sure enough, 22 seconds into the game, Beal hit a 27-foot triple to hit the first leg of the two-part parlay.
About a half hour later, Terrance Mann took a pass from James Harden to put the Clippers up 3-0 on the Kings, cashing nearly $9,000 for the FanDuel bettor in quick fashion.
