Britney Spears fans on social media have accused Sam Asghari of never really loving the pop star following the news that her husband of barely more than a year had filed for divorce.
“I was so hoping Sam would be that one person who offers Brit the unconditional love that she never received from anyone else,” one fan tweeted. “But it wasn’t meant to be.”
The couple dated for five years before becoming engaged in 2021 and married in June 2022.
#FreeBritney fans thought Asghari, 29, would stick by Spears, 41, until death do them part, as he supported her fight to end her conservatorship and regain control of her life.
“I really saw him as a calming influence on her through all the turmoil in her life,” tweeted another.
However, things took a turn in the relationship when he started to accuse the “Toxic” singer of cheating allegations, which many fans did not believe.
“Britney don’t be going out nowhere and only has two friends so who would she be cheating on someone with???” one fan pondered.
“Idgaf if Britney cheated ima support my mama til I’m 6 feet under,” demanded another.
Ultimately Asghari had had enough and cited “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce filing. He listed July 28, 2023, as the date of the couple’s separation.
“Britney Spears for the last 5 years has been betrayed by the people she loved the most. Her family, her own sons and now her ex-husband Sam,” a fan tweeted.
Another added, “I hope her lawyers end him.”
The fitness trainer is allegedly attempting to renegotiate his prenup and “threatening to go public with embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid,” Page six reported.
“ASSghari never really loved Britney at all cos he wouldn’t threaten to release some private information about Britney if he did,” tweeted a #FreeBritney stan. “I STAND WITH BRITNEY.”
While her supporters continue to release their anger on Asghari, who broke the “Stronger” crooner’s heart, some people are ready for her to “Break the Ice” with a particular comedian, whose known to have a big package.
Fans think Pete Davidson, 29, could be the easy rebound for Spears due to his dating history with high-profile divorcees Kim Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski.
“Now that Britney Spears is single, how many days until Pete Davidson becomes Mr. Spears?” quipped one person. “I feel like they’d be great together.”
“Britney Spears is reportedly divorcing. I’m now tracking Pete Davidson’s movements to confirm,” joked another.
Fans promise to support Spears during troubling times, no matter what she goes through.
“Britney Spears has to ultimately be one of the strongest people that has ever walked on this planet. This young girl now grown woman deserves an apology for all that have wronged her. We love you Brit,” gushed an admirer.
